Competent full service provider for adhesives

PLANATOL is worldwide one of the leading providers of adhesives for the graphic and coating industry. The company has been the competent partner of bookbinders, printers, along with the packing and coating industry for 75 years and offers the relevant adhesive for manual small or machine-produced large editions. Visitors at drupa can find information about the complete production range of adhesives: cold glues, hotmelts, PUR, pressure sensitive adhesives on water, water-free and solvent-borne base. Interesting new developments can be seen in the ranges PUR, laminating adhesives, HMPSAs and solvent-borne adhesives. In addition, the product range fountain solutions for the IPA-containing, IPA-reduced and IPA-free rotary and sheet-fed presses can be seen.

System constructor for the world’s fastest gluing

As well as adhesives, PLANATOL develops innovative fold gluing machines for their processing. The strategy of offering system solutions where technology and consumable material match perfectly has proved to be successful for decades. The company belongs to the worldwide leading manufacturers of auxiliary equipment in the printing line. Through a further developed control technique, the longitudinal gluing systems are now available under new names - COMBIJET 9NET (large system) and COMBIJET 9DT (small system) and these provide the customer with even more user-friendly handling. A special focus is laid on efficient communication to the press control desks of the printing machines.

Productivity has also been increased with regard to the OPIMATIC cross-web gluing systems. The capacity has been increased to 70,000 cylinder revolutions/h in contrast to the previous 60,000. PLANATOL is the only manufacturer offering fold gluing systems which glue at a right angle to the web direction of every rotary press, fitting the fold accurately.

Solutions for uncomplicated adhesive binding

The PLANAX range has been developed by PLANATOL to provide easy-to-use adhesive binding machines with impressive binding results due to book-binding professionalism. The modified PLANAX Copy Binder shown at drupa produces perfect documents using PLANATOL adhesive-coated linen strips at the press of a button - even for those who are out of practice. The modified PLANAX Perfect Binder, the world’s smallest and most compact cold glue binding machine, is the ideal machine to process difficult papers, e.g. digitally printed, silicone-treated or coated papers where typical hotmelt binding machines are confronted with technical factors. Both PLANAX machines have been developed for small and medium-sized numbers of copies.
